Dryer Vent Installaion, Repair & Cleaning

Dryer vents are very common in modern homes and allow hot, humid air from a clothes dryer to escape. One issue specific to dryer vents is that lint is in the hot air that is being ventilated. Over time, this lint builds up in the ducting and vent, degrading the dryer’s performance. In extreme cases, this lint can become a fire hazard and result in massive property damage if a fire starts.

At Calvey Heating and Air, we have years of experience installing, repairing, and cleaning dryer vents. We use a high-tech tool that combines a brush and vacuum to remove lint from your dryer vent, and improve your dryer’s performance. We also use a camera system to inspect the ducts after cleaning. Additionally, we also fabricate custom ductwork for your dryer and can install new vents as well as repair existing vents.

The Dryer Vent Cleaning Process:

  • Technician removes and cleans the dryer’s lint trap
  • Technician takes the measurement of airflow using an air flow meter at the exterior dryer vent
  • The back of the dryer is topically cleaned, as this is where lint can accumulate
  • The dryer vent and flexible ducting from the wall are visually inspected using a video inspection system
  • The HEPA vacuum system is connected to dryer vent duct. Dryer duct auger is run through the duct to remove any blockages.
  • Airflow is measured again to gauge improvement before and after cleaning.
  • The camera is used again for post cleaning inspection.
